Since I had enjoyed the folk dancers so much at the Vardzia my guide and new friend Levani suggested I visit this remarkable restaurant for dinner. I am writing this short blog on just this evening because it was so fun and interesting. The restaurant is perched on a high bank over the river that flows thru Tbilisi and consist of five dining rooms arranged over three different elevations with a waterfall flowing thru the property. The entire facility is decorated in traditional old Georgia motifs and the wait staff are in traditional dress with white gloves.
I should first mention the food was excellent for a tourist trap. I had stewed lamb ribs in tomato and chili sauce, Shoti bread, vegetable laced rice and fried pineapple with honey for desert all washed down with a semi sweet local white wine. But as good as the food was the real treat wast the entertainment. A band played traditional folk music throughout the evening accompanied by incredible dancers. I’m posting several videos and photos so their incredible talents can speak for themselves.
The videos were really a nice touch, Rockie. IMpressive!
